Marjoram belongs in the mint family and is similar in appearance to oregano but has a less pronounced flavor. Produced mostly in the US it is a good flavoring with vegetables such as lima beans, peas and green beans. Marjoram is one of the herbs in poultry and Italian seasoning. It is used in many processed foods such as liverwurst and bologna. Marjoram is what gives Polish sausage it’s distinct flavor. Crumble leaves before using in all eggplant dishes and tomato based sauces. Sprinke crushed leaves over eggs before baking.
